How MyQR handles your data
MyQR keeps scan analytics coarse, so you get useful trends without storing the raw IP address of the person who scanned. You can export everything you have to a CSV in one click, and delete your account and its data in one step, instantly — no support ticket, no waiting period, no guilt trip. The exact list of what's collected and how it's used lives in the Privacy Policy.
What data does MyQR collect when someone scans my code?
For each scan, MyQR records coarse details: country, region, city, device type, OS, browser, language, referrer, and the time of the scan. It does not store the raw IP address of the person scanning.
When someone scans one of your dynamic QR codes, MyQR notes a handful of details so you can read the overall picture of your audience. You get the place (country, region, city), the tech (device type, operating system, browser, language), where the scan came from (the referrer), and when it happened.
The important part: this is deliberately coarse. MyQR does not store the raw IP address of the person who scanned your code, so what you see is a trend across scans rather than a row tied to a name. For the full, plain breakdown of which fields are collected and how they're used, see the Privacy Policy.
Want to see exactly what shows up in your dashboard? What scan data do I get? walks through every number, and the blog post on seeing who scanned your QR code shows what you can (and can't) learn from a scan.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. You can export everything you have, including your scan records, to a CSV file in one click from your dashboard.
You can take your data with you. From your account you can export your scan records to a CSV (the kind of file that opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers) in a single click. Open it, pivot it, chart it, or pull it into whatever tool you already use.
There's no waiting list, no support ticket, and no request form to fill out. The export is just there, ready whenever you want it.
How do I delete my account and my data?
You delete your account and its data from your account settings in one step, instantly — no support ticket, no waiting period, no guilt trip. You type DELETE to confirm, so an account can't be wiped by accident.
Leaving is one step, done instantly. Deleting your account removes your account and its data, and the button to do it lives right in your settings, not buried three menus deep.
You won't hit a guilt screen, a 'wait, here's a discount' offer, or a maze designed to wear you down. You type DELETE once to confirm — that's there so nobody deletes an account by accident — and then it happens instantly.
- Export first if you want a copy — once you delete, it's gone, so grab your CSV beforehand if you'd like to keep your numbers.
- No cancellation maze — the same no-dark-patterns rule applies when paid plans arrive; see Does my QR code still work if I cancel?.
How do I sign in to MyQR?
MyQR uses magic-link sign-in: you enter your email and click a link MyQR sends you. There's no password to create, remember, or get stolen.
There are no passwords on MyQR. To sign in, you type your email, MyQR emails you a one-time link, and clicking it logs you in. That's it.
Fewer passwords means fewer things to leak. You're not reusing a password from another site, and there's no password sitting in a database waiting to be breached. The Getting started guide covers your first sign-in step by step.
What happens to my data and codes if I stop paying?
Your printed codes keep working. When paid plans launch, a paid dynamic code keeps redirecting to its last destination even if you stop paying, so a printed QR never goes dead.
A QR code you've printed on a flyer, a sticker, or a sign is out in the world for good, so it should never break because of a billing change. MyQR is built so that when paid plans arrive, a paid dynamic code keeps sending people to its last destination even after you stop paying.
When paid plans launch, a paid dynamic QR keeps redirecting to wherever it last pointed, even if you cancel. You lose the ability to re-point or read new analytics, but the code itself keeps working. More in Does my QR code still work if I cancel?.
Where can I read the full details on data collection and use?
The complete, plain-language list of what MyQR collects and how it's used lives in the Privacy Policy at /privacy. This help page covers the controls; the Privacy Policy covers the specifics.
This page is about the controls you have: coarse scan data with no raw IP stored, one-click export, instant account deletion, and magic-link sign-in. For the specifics of exactly what is collected and how it's used, the full details live in the Privacy Policy, written in plain terms.
One note on honesty: MyQR is new — accounts are open and free, but we don't have years of track record yet. We'd rather tell you that than overstate where things stand. If something here ever doesn't match what you see in your account, the Privacy Policy is the source of truth, and you can always reach us through the help center.
Frequently asked questions
Does MyQR store the IP address of people who scan my code?
No. Scan analytics are kept coarse, and MyQR does not store the raw IP address of the person who scanned. You get location down to the city and device details, but not a raw IP. The full data details live in the Privacy Policy.
How long does it take to export or delete my data?
Both are instant. You can download your scan records as a CSV from your dashboard whenever you want, and delete your account and its data from your settings in one step — no support ticket, no waiting period, no guilt trip.
Do I need a password to use MyQR?
No. MyQR uses magic-link sign-in, so you enter your email and click a link that's sent to you. There's no password to set, remember, or have stolen in a breach.
Where do I find exactly what data is collected and how it's used?
In the Privacy Policy. This help page explains the controls you have over your data; the Privacy Policy lists the specifics of collection and use in plain language.
